EDIT: Always look at the pictures so you don’t look like an idiot like me.

Not supported by picture evidence though.

Never trust what the listing says about the transmission until you see an interior picture.

Didn’t even look at the interior pictures. My point no longer stands.

Otherwise it would have been an automagic.

Not a SE but it’s better because 5-speed. That said, I can never go back to tan interior unless forced to.

Oh, shit. Not an SE? I figured it was because of the presence of bose and i thought I saw a “6" on the shift knob. I see now that is reverse. Derp.

What tipped me off is the paint, the lack of badges, and the lack of wood trim. Mazda’s BRG is gloss, never metallic and that car is in Emerald Mica.
Also, tupperware wasn’t an option on the ‘01 SE.

My SE doesn’t have badges, oddly. I think there was an option to get rid of them. I forgot entirely about the wood wheel and knob.

The badges came standard but many SE badges fall off over time as the adhesive gets old. Every once in a while I see a thread on the Miata forums about someone looking for a replacement SE or 10AE badge. It’s a common problem and it’s easy to spot because you’ll notice the paint looking less faded in a small portion of the fender.

I’m not gonna look on mine because if i notice it I’ll never un-see it.

Yeah, color, wheels, body cladding, trans, and interior trim say this is certainly not an SE.
